How did this project begin?

The project began as an exploration into the contemporary state of the Welsh language and its relevance in the world today. My initial research concluded that although the language is considered to be dying, a uprise in nationalism within Wales is seeing an interesting social switch with patriotism towards identity quickly resurrecting the language from linguistic genocide.

Soo.. what is exactly the point of the project?

I explored how we can create physical products that can assist in the teaching of the Welsh language, ending up focusing on the notoriously difficult to pronounce double letter of “LL”. Creating and making objects that can be put in the mouth and used to familiarise the learner with the place of articulation for the natural pronunciation of the the letter.
